Volkswagen I.D. EV will be one of the most affordable electric vehicles

Volkswagen is planning on making a big push into vehicle electrification in the next few years. At the heart of the German automaker’s strategy will be the Volkswagen I.D., a fully electric model that will be offered in a host of versions starting in 2020.

The Volkswagen I.D. will come in two versions starting with the entry-level, one-battery model with 300 kilometers of range. This version could start at around $30,000 in Canada. Next is the longer range two-battery version with roughly 400 kilometers of range.

That model will start at $45,000 according to early reports. So far, we don’t have that much information on the new Volkswagen I.D. with the exception of what we discussed here.
