Volkswagen lights up L.A. with I.D. Buzz Cargo Concept

The Volkswagen I.D. Buzz Cargo may not be the only electric vehicle unveiled this year in Los Angeles nor is the most consumer-focused product found on the show floor. That said, it may very well be the one that will have the most impact on the automotive industry.

The I.D. Buzz Cargo isn’t meant for consumers first and foremost, it’s meant for businesses who need to transport goods, products, and make deliveries. With a payload capacity of 800 kilos, the I.D. Buzz Cargo can transport a lot of stuff. What makes it unique, however, is that it transports all of this stuff without using or needing a single drop of fuel.

Thanks to an incredible 111-kWh battery powering a 150-kWh all-electric powertrain, the I.D. Buzz Cargo can travel 550 kilometers on a single electric charge. No fuel is needed, and you can charge it back up in a few hours thanks to a fast charging system. A solar panel on the roof even allows you to add 15 kilometers or range as needed.

The I.D. Buzz Cargo has the potential to revolutionize the transport industry, which is saying a lot.
